Umesh Yadav removed opener Chris Rogers with the last ball before tea as Australia slipped to 121-3, returning the momentum to India on day two of the second test.

Nine wickets fell in the first two sessions Thursday after India resumed at a commanding 311—4. The Australian attack took six wickets for 97 to dismiss India for 408 before lunch, with paceman Josh Hazlewood snaring 5—68 on debut and Nathan Lyon returning 3—105.

Australia’s David Warner opened with a run—a—ball 29 before he was dismissed by Yadav. Ravi Ashwin, overlooked for the first test, struck in his second over to dismiss Shane Watson for 25.

Rogers batted through the middle session, making 55, until he gloved a legside catch to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, giving Yadav figures of 2—35.
