On Day 2 of his three-day Israel tour, PM Narendra Modi will be attending a series of meetings. India and Israel are expected to sign a number of deals.

On Day 1 of his historic three-day trip to Israel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent most of his time with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu.

As he landed in Tel Aviv, PM Modi greeted Netanyahu in his patent beer hug style. The two leaders then jointly addressed the media and called for fighting and defeating the global menace of terrorism.

The two sides are also expected to sign number of agreements in the fields of innovation, development, science, technology and space, The Jerusalem Post said.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.”We also want to put in place a robust security partnership to respond to shared threats to our peace, stability and prosperity,” Modi said.On his part, Netanyahu said that India and Israel were ‘sister democracies’ and faced the common challenge of terrorism.Calling Modi as ‘friend Narendra’, Netanyahu said that Israel believed in the ‘partnership of intelligence’.
