The BJP in Rajasthan is likely to expel rebel leader Gyandev Ahuja.
Ahuja, who is BJP’s MLA from Ramgarh in Alwar district, had sought removal of Vasundhara Raje as Rajasthan’s Chief Minister.
In an audio conversation which had gone viral, the MLA could be heard saying that if the current leadership is not removed, then the party is doomed.
According to sources, the BJP wants to send out a clear signal in Rajasthan that any dissent of this form will not be tolerated and therefore, strong action may be taken against Ahuja.
The BJP lost Lok Sabha seats in Alwar, Ajmer and the Mandalgarh Assembly seat during the recent by-polls in the state.
Since then, there had been murmurs of discontent from within the party and in a bid to quell that, the party might take action
Ever since the audio conversation got viral, Ahuja has not denied that it is his voice in the conversation. He had also been at loggerheads with BJPs Jaswant Yadav, who is a minister in the Vasundhara Raje government and was party’s candidate during the Alwar bypoll.
Ahuja himself has remained nonchalant in the face of possible action.
“The Disciplinary Committee has decided to act against me. It has recommended my suspension. I will face it. But in a few days, I will make revelations which will make huge impact.”, Ahuja had said earlier.
Ahuja, in the viral audio conversation had claimed that he had informed the party leader Ramlal already that the results will be disastrous if the current leadership is not changed.
Ahuja has often been surrounded with controversies in the past, including for his JNU condoms remark which had received much flak.
