Five days after 7-year-old Pradyuman was murdered in Ryan International School in Gurgaon’s Bhondsi area, a clearer picture of what transpired on that fateful morning has come to the fore.
Speaking exclusively to India Today, school’s gardener Harpal, who first saw Pradyuman’s body, said that he saw bus conductor Ashok Kumar around the crime scene.
Harpal said, “I had just reached school and I went to have water from the machine near the bathroom. As I was drinking water, I heard some children scream. As I turned, I saw Pradyuman’s body lying in a pool of blood.”
The school gardener said that as he shouted horrified, junior wing head Miss Anju was the first to reach the scene.
ASHOK LIFTED PRADYUMAN’s BODY: GARDENER
Harpal added, “I never saw Ashok entering or leaving the bathroom. But he did lift Pradyuman’s body after Anju ma’am asked him and he took him to the car.”
The gardener said that Ashok didn’t come from inside the bathroom. “I was scared when I saw the blood. All the kids were screaming. I saw Ashok go past me and I left the spot.”
Harpal’s version of events seconds claims of what happened as made by Neerja Batra and another teacher of Ryan International school. They said while Harpal was the first to spot the body, he was too shocked to react and so Ashok was called to lift Pradyuman.
The revelation of the sequence of events comes a day before the chargesheet is to be filed.
